Contemporary Tapestry Weaving specializes in true hand-woven tapestries that are designed and woven by tapestry artist Ulrika Leander. Beginning with the creation of a water-color design and continuing through the timeless process of weaving on a high warp loom, each tapestry is a unique creation using the highest quality natural fibers. These designs are never repeated.

Working primarily through commissions, Leander has established a reputation throughout the US and Scandinavia, for sophisticated site-specific designs characterized by her brilliant use of color and the highest quality craftsmanship. Tapestry

Tapestries are frequently referred to as wall hangings, wall tapestries or tapestry wall hangings. The Gallery By The River

During the summer, the studio is home to The Gallery By The River. This unusual art gallery tucked away in a quiet corner of Maryland close to Easton, St. Michaels and Oxford on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, presents a unique annual exhibit by international and national artists working primarily in the decorative arts.
